I have written for young people for many years. My own daughter, recently graduated from college had never attended a day in a formal school setting except for the school she was employed by at age fourteen. That is, until a northern college called and offered her four scholarships for her to give up her job and attend their school for free. She graduated number one in her college class with two majors, English and Religion. As a teacher for thirty years, I decided to let my daughter teach herself and she began reading before age three. By the time most kids were getting ready for Kindergarten she was reading ten to fifteen books a week. Deep books. How did this happen. I am a writer and I would write stores for her whens she was very young and then she began writing her own stories. She now is the editor-in-chief of all my books. http://www.amazon.com/-/e/B002CB3V24 This link is my bio on Amazon. I have web pages for young readers and some, like my daughter are reading at age three.
I am often asked what was my teaching job. I worked in the guidance office for most of my career.
