The First Female Geek: Ada Lovelace

Ada Lovelace Day was Wednesday, March 24th–and I missed it!

Ada was the only daughter of poet Lord Byron. She wrote the very first computer program, which she says was inspired by Charles Babbage’s analytical engine.

Wherever you are today, show some love to the self-rescuing code princesses you know. Buy ’em Fritos and raise a can of Mountain Dew in Ada’s honor.
